1. Check Which Ride Apps Are Available

Set up your account before travelling if possible, so you’re not trying to register when you arrive at the airport.
2. Compare Taxis With Ride-Hailing Apps
Don’t automatically assume an app will always be cheaper than a traditional taxi.
In some destinations, metered taxis offer excellent value, while in others ride-hailing apps may provide clearer pricing and easier payment.
Compare your options, especially for longer journeys.
3. Check the Estimated Fare Before You Travel
One advantage of many ride apps is being able to see an estimated price before confirming the journey.
For traditional taxis, check whether the taxi uses a meter or whether there is an official fixed fare.
Knowing approximately what the journey should cost makes it easier to avoid paying much more than necessary.
4. Confirm the Car and Driver
Before getting into a ride-hailing vehicle, check that the registration number, car model, and driver details match the information shown in your app.
Don’t simply get into a vehicle because someone says they’re your driver.

Avoid accepting random offers from drivers approaching you inside terminals or tourist areas unless you know they’re legitimate.

Before arriving, check whether the airport has an official taxi rate, ride-hailing pickup area, airport bus, train, or metro connection.
Sometimes public transport is dramatically cheaper and almost as convenient.
